Damage is the reduction of a character's health points. We will use the term mainly as the one inflicted by mobs and other players.

When inflicted by normal hits or direct powers it is known as instant damage. On the other hand, some constant powers and auras deal a certain amount of damage every second, which is known as damage over time or DOT. Some powers, eg Magma Blast, deal both.

There are six types of damage, and all can be reduced by armor of a certain kind:

Physical[edit | edit source]

Wounds made through contact. All warrior and archer weapons (excluding Soras Trident) have this kind of damage. Also, many powers deal this type too. Most creatures inflict physical damage.

  • Slashing
  • Piercing
  • Blunt

Magical[edit | edit source]

Wounds inflicted by low or high temperatures, or electric charges. All mage weapons have this kind of damage. Also, some powers deal this type too. Summonings with ranged attacks (e.g Lichs) have magical normal hits. Some creatures use special powers that deal elemental damage as well.

  • Fire
  • Ice
  • Lightning

Net[edit | edit source]

Some attacks cause a net or fixed amout of damage. This kind of damage does not have a "type", and is not affected by armor. It's mainly from self damaging powers, draining powers, and some rare powers that discount a certain amount straight from the health bar (e.g Ethereal Arrow)

Plus (+) Damage[edit | edit source]

On some weapons, next to the overall damage is a (+) plus damage indicator, this number pushes up the weapons overall damage on both the upper and lower limits of the weapon.

  • i.e. Weapon does 57-68 damage with a +4 on it. the new weapons damage is 61-72.
